Craig doesn’t realize that Bitcoin, the protocol, allows for miners to activate things like Segwit. How could it *not* be Bitcoin if this type of softforking change is allowed by the original protocol rules?
Further, he uses the pejorative “developer coin”, but the developers just write and release software. It’s the decision of miners and users to use it. Nobody in Core held a gun to people’s heads to get them to run the software. They did dramatically oversell the benefits of segwit and downplay the costs, but that’s not holding a gun to anyone’s head. At the end of the day users and miners decided to run it voluntarily.
CSW completely fails to understand this voluntarist dynamic and instead shows his brain operates in a totalitarian mindset where rules need to be imposed and excludes the possibility of voluntary adoption.
